International Youth Day was created to highlight the struggles some young people experience throughout the world.  Half the children between the ages of six and 13 lack basic reading and math skills.  It’s important to bring awareness to these issues as we continue to work toward solutionsBetter understanding problems children of the world are facing allows for changes to be possible.  We know one of the best things we can offer children is education.

Bloomingdale Day Care (BDC) has been providing the community with nine programs of care since 1982.  We value our community and our community values what we have done for the last 38 years.  We believe in a strong parent/teacher partnership, so the role of our programs is to assist families in the care and education of each child; facilitating activities that allow parents to be more involved with their child’s learning process and development.

Our large classrooms allow teachers to break into small groups depending on children’s interest throughout the day; encouraging learning, exploration, investigation, creativity, discovery, and curiosity.  A safe, caring, and welcoming environment is promoted to help your child develop the thinking skills and intellectual curiosity needed to be successful.

Bloomingdale Day Care P.L.A.Y.S. to Learn:

  • Physical: Fine-motor and gross-motor development; engaging the five senses; learning through movement and music
  • Language: Developing vocabulary, phonemic awareness, phonics, storytelling, rhyming, clearly expressing thoughts and feelings, and asking/answering questions about stories
  • Activities: Hands-on activities for literacy, math, social studies, science, art, and sensory play
  • Yet: Yet is the magic word!  We want our students to have a “can do” attitude, never give up, have a positive self-image, and a growth mindset
  • Social: Children are surrounded by loving caregivers who provide responsive care, positive guidance, and fun learning experiences.  From a young age, children will form friendships with their peers and enjoy learning and growing together.
