One of the most heartwarming sights at Bloomingdale Aftercare is witnessing our older children take the lead, looking out for their younger peers and even inventing new and exciting activities for everyone to enjoy.
You’ll often see our children engrossed in friendly team sports, cheering each other on and celebrating every success, whether it’s scoring a goal or simply mastering a new skill. At Bloomingdale Aftercare, fostering a culture of mutual respect and encouragement is at the heart of what we do.
Our aftercare program remains open until 6:00 p.m. on all school days, including half-days, providing a reliable and extended care option for your child. We diligently adhere to the Bloomingdale Public School’s calendar for holidays, breaks, and other scheduled days off.
If your child requires care on days when school is closed, please inform us, as we maintain a limited number of open spots at our center located at 65 Main St for single-day care, ensuring that your child’s needs are met even on non-school days.
There may be occasional instances where we close before 6:00 p.m. due to inclement weather, prioritizing the safety of our aftercare students, parents, and staff. Additionally, we may close earlier before holidays, and we ensure that parents are promptly notified through our parent engagement apps.
In the case of a delayed school opening, the start of our before-care program may also be delayed, and we will promptly notify parents via our parent engagement app about the revised opening time.
Walter T. Bergen (WTB): Students in the 5th grade are conveniently bused to Samuel R. Donald Aftercare (SRD) by the school district, ensuring a seamless transition. Although we do accept 6th-grade students, our focus remains on prioritizing the needs of our younger students. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office for availability inquiries.
Samuel R. Donald Aftercare (SRD): Our vibrant aftercare program is primarily hosted in the cafeteria, while the gym and playground serve as exciting hubs for open play and structured activities, fostering a dynamic and engaging environment for all our attendees.
SRD Before care: The program is located at 65 Main St and operates from 6:30 a.m. until the bus pickup at approximately 7:45 a.m
Martha B. Day (MBD) Aftercare Program: Our dedicated older students, ranging from Kindergarten to First Grade, thrive in the multi-purpose room (Gym) during aftercare hours. Meanwhile, our younger adventurers in PreK-3 and PreK-4 enjoy their stimulating activities in the art classroom, ensuring a tailored and age-appropriate experience for all.
MBD Before Care: Join us for our energizing before-care program, located in the multi-purpose room (Gym) from 7:00 a.m. until the start of the school day, providing a seamless transition from early morning to the school day’s commencement.

Contact the aftercare phone number provided below upon your arrival at the designated pickup door. For the safety and security of all, it is crucial that you remain by the door to ensure our staff can easily identify you from a distance. Additionally, please utilize the provided QR code to electronically sign out your children, as it is a state requirement for us to maintain a log of individuals picking up the children. This process ensures a streamlined and efficient procedure for everyone involved.

PreK3 and PreK4 students as they enjoy playful activities together in the art classroom and the newly designed toddler playground. To ensure a comfortable experience for your little ones, we kindly ask parents to keep a full set of clothes in their child’s backpack, even if they are fully potty trained. It’s common for children at this age to have occasional accidents, and having spare clothes readily available ensures that they can quickly freshen up and get back to their fun-filled day. If your child has recently started potty training, we recommend they come to aftercare in pull-ups as the bathrooms are far from the art classroom.
Our cherished PreK3 and PreK4 students at SRD enjoy their time in the bustling cafeteria alongside our other aftercare attendees. To ensure specialized care and attention for our little ones, we have a dedicated staff member solely focused on catering to their unique needs. Just like in our other locations, we kindly request parents to pack a spare set of clothes in their child’s backpack, even if they are fully potty trained, as it’s common for children at this age to have occasional accidents. If your child is currently in the process of potty training, we recommend they attend aftercare in pull-ups to ensure a seamless experience.
We understand that our regular aftercare program might not suit every family’s needs, and we appreciate that there are times when parents require ad-hoc care for their little ones. At Bloomingdale Aftercare, we’re thrilled to offer single-day ad-hoc care for all students, allowing families to enjoy the perks of our engaging program without the commitment of monthly service. Experience the same exciting aftercare activities, attentive care, and vibrant atmosphere for just $35 per day on regular school days and $45 on half-days. Before care also ad-hoc for just $20 per day. Join us and pay as you go, ensuring your child has a fantastic and enriching time with us whenever the need arises.
Upon enrolling for our aftercare program, you will be requested to download the ProCare app. This user-friendly tool allows family members to conveniently manage payments and swiftly sign children in and out of aftercare. Using your smartphone’s camera app, simply scan the QR code located at the pickup door and enter your unique PIN number. You can find your individual PIN within the ProCare app under your personal contact information. It’s crucial to confirm and manage all family members and authorized pickup individuals through this app, as it serves as our primary communication channel for reaching out to you when necessary.
