After School Program

Bloomingdale Day Care offers an AfterSchool program for Bloomingdale township at Martha B. Day and Samuel R. Donald schools. Students in grades K-1 attend the AfterSchool program at the Martha B. Day School in the multi-purpose room. Students in grades 2-5 attend the AfterSchool program at the Samuel R. Donald School in the cafeteria. Busing from the Walter T. Bergen School is provided for students in 5th grade. If enrollment permits, students in 6th grade may attend the after-school program.

Our goal is to provide children a “home away from home” after a long day of school. There is a balance of structured activities and free time. Students spend time playing outside and in the gym. Homework help is provided for children to work on homework. Students enjoy spending time socializing and making new friends.

Our AfterSchool program is fully licensed by the state. All of our teachers are fully-certified, complete criminal background checks and fingerprinting, are First Aid and CPR trained, and attend annual training geared towards caring for school-aged children.

The AfterSchool program is open until 6:00pm on all days that the school is open, including half days. We follow the Bloomingdale Public School’s calendar as far as holidays, breaks, and other days off.

Contact the main office at Bloomingdale Day Care for more information about the AfterSchool program, including pricing and how to enroll your student!

Hi Parents,

Welcome new and returning parents!! We are very excited to announce that this coming school year we are expanding our program to also provide before care for both MBD and SRD.  In addition to expanding our program we are also expanding our services to the new universal Pre K program.

The before and aftercare for Pre K children is new to our center and our community; we realize there are many unanswered questions around transportation to and from our center to MBD and SRD.  While we still do not have the answer to many of these questions, we do hope to have answers to these after the 19th of August when a busing company is selected.  If you do not see an answer to your question below, please check back after August 19th 2022.

Please keep your questions coming via email bloomingdaledaycare@gmail.com and we’ll be sure to include them on our website for all parents to view.

Before care will be held at the MBD gym

We use the door by the loading dock to enter and exit the building. When you are at the door, call our aftercare phone number and let our team know that you have arrived.

Program will begin at 7:00a

Our licensing does not permit us to offer breakfast however parents are welcome to pack a breakfast or sign up for the school breakfast program

Our programs run till 6:00p

We use the door by the loading dock to enter and exit the building.  When you are at the door, call our aftercare phone number and let our team know that you have arrived.  Please remember to sign your children out in ProCare

We use the door by the playground closest to the cafeteria to enter and exit the building.  When you are at the door, call our aftercare phone number and let our team know that you have arrived.  Please remember to sign your children out in ProCare

Unfortunately no this coming school year, all children enrolled in the Pre K 3 program will need to be bused to our center at 65 Main St for aftercare.

Unfortunately no, they will need to be bused to our center at 65 Main St for aftercare however once they are fully potty trained they can resume aftercare at MBD.

We should have a final confirmation after Aug 19th 2022

While our state license does allow us to have 3s and 4s at SRD, our license restricts us to the use of the cafeteria and gym at SRD.  In other words, we do not have the ability to keep Pre K students separate from older SRD students in aftercare.  We can offer aftercare however at our center located at 65 Main St.  We just need a minimum of 5 families to sign up for this program.

Unfortunately no this coming school year.  If sufficient parents express the need for this program we can look into adding the program later in the school year.

All of our aftercare children will be in the same group and towards the end of the day will join our other classrooms

No, however if a student has allergies we do require an allergy form be completed, if students require any medication as a part of their allergy plan we also need to have these medican(s) available to us.
