Dear Parents and Grandparents,

Please take a moment to fill out this short Survey about our response to the COVID-19 health situation.  We are looking for feedback from our families to help guide us in re-opening the center in a way that meets the needs of our families while keeping safety a top priority.

COVID-19 Response Survey for Bloomingdale Day Care

We are excited to announce that Bloomingdale Day Care will be re-opening its doors on June 1st to provide child care services to essential workers, as long as the state government extends this service into June.  We will know by the end of this week and will share it with our center families as soon as we receive the confirmation we need.

If you are an essential employee who is looking for child care, note that the state is covering the full cost of daycare with our center.  Please use the below to begin the registration process; an application must be submitted to CCRR and we must receive approval before a student can be accepted.

Please understand that we are limited to serving children of essential workers only at this time.  We are hopeful that we will be able to expand our services very soon.

We will be taking many measures to ensure the health and safety of the students in our care.  To name a few:

  1. No one is allowed inside of the center unless he or she is a teacher, child, and/or government agency employee.  We will not be using the front door for pick up and drop off, only the infant entrance door where a teacher will meet you to receive or hand you your child.

  2. All students and teachers will be screened prior to being accepted into the center each day and at least one additional time during the day.  This mini-health screening will include temperature check, pulse ox reading, and a short health survey.

  3. Measuring Fever – We will take a temperature reading of anyone entering the center.  Anyone with a reading of 100.4 F will not be allowed into the school.

  4. Please provide a pair of shoes that will be designated as CENTER ONLY shoes which will only be worn inside the facility and will be left here each evening.

  5. Teachers will remove shoes upon arrival and put on “Crocs” which can be easily cleaned.

  6. Throughout the day children will swap classrooms and enjoy outdoor play so that our team can clean and sanitize used spaces

  7. Teachers will wear facemasks at all times while providing care

  8. All students aged 2 and older will be required to wear face masks except during meal and  nap times.  Cloth masks are preferred.  If you have difficulty obtaining a cloth mask for your child, please reach out to us.

  9. We will be operating under reduced hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. This will allow for proper cleaning and disinfecting of the facility.

  10. Toys from home will not be allowed (lovey’s, dolls, trucks, etc)

  11. Please bring 2 sheets and blankets from home.  These will remain at the center and will be washed regularly by our center.

  12. Breakfast, lunch and a snack will be provided.  Meal plan details will be sent out to registered families.

  13. Disposable plates, cups and utensils will be used.

  14. Every child will have a complete work bin with their own crayons, pencils, etc.

  15. No strollers or car seats will be allowed in the school.

  16. Any type of waterplay is cancelled for the time being.

  17. Any child that has a fever of 100.4 or more must be picked up within 30 minutes of phone call and may not be allowed back into school for 72 hours.

  18. A doctor’s note will be required to return to school.

  19. Hand washing schedule:

    • Immediately upon arrival

    • Before and after meals

    • After using a tissue

    • After outdoor play

    • After diaper changes

    • After nap time

    • After the completion of any activity

    • Before leaving the center

  20. Soap and bleach solutions will be the main cleaning supplies

  21. Daily cleaning/disinfecting of the entire center including door knobs, phones, tablets, etc.

  22. All Parents and/or Guardians must sign acknowledgement of new rules form

We look forward to providing outstanding service to the children of essential workers while we wait for the state government to expand child care center operations in the coming weeks.

Thank you,

Elizabeth Smith
