Do you get weekends off work? What about lunch breaks, paid vacation, an 8-hour workday, and/or Social Security?  If your answer is YES to any of these options, give thanks to the Labor Unions and the U.S. Labor Movement!  As a result of one of the worst chapters in American labor history; we celebrate the American worker on Labor Day, reflecting on their contributions to our country.

An annual celebration observed on the first Monday in September, this day honors the achievements of the American worker.  Much like Memorial Day marking the beginning of summer, Labor Day implies the end of summer and Back-to-School season.  Speaking of Back-to-School: As a way of continuing to improve and enhance our center, Bloomingdale Day Care will be using The Creative Curriculum® in the classrooms this fall.

Throughout the summer; our teachers ”labored” over training and learned how to best implement the high-quality, comprehensive resources that support the development of the whole child.  This empowers our teachers to intentionally teach and care for our youngest learners during their most critical and formative years.

The Creative Curriculum® is:
? Innovative: delivers cutting-edge resources that are unique, effective, and based on the latest research
? Responsive: includes solutions that address educators’ challenges and help create a responsive learning environment
? Supportive: provides robust guidance to support each educator’s professional journey
? Comprehensive: aligns with all state early-learning guidelines and the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework
? Developmentally Appropriate: promotes learning experiences designed for each age-group, flexibly tailored to each child’s needs

These curriculum solutions are used across the country by early childhood educators, helping to provide children with programs that encourage active learning. We’re confident this “labor” of love will lend additional support that improves family and community relationships. This will help us create a high-quality classroom environment that enables every child to become a creative and confident thinker.

It is our mission to provide the best possible service not only to the children, but also to their families. We understand that little ones don’t come with manuals, so it’s important to have an opinion you trust. If you have any questions or concerns about the new curriculum, please reach out to us at (973) 838-2459 or bloomingdaledaycare@gmail.com.

We wish everyone a safe and happy Labor Day weekend!
