International Youth Day was created to highlight the struggles some young people experience throughout the world.  Half the children between the ages of six and 13 lack basic reading and math skills.  It’s important to bring awareness to these issues as we continue to work toward solutions.  Better understanding problems children of the world are facing allows for changes to be possible.  We know one of the best things we can offer children is education.

Bloomingdale Day Care (BDC) has been providing the community with nine programs of care since 1982.  We value our community and our community values what we have done for the last 38 years.  We believe in a strong parent/teacher partnership, so the role of our programs is to assist families in the care and education of each child; facilitating activities that allow parents to be more involved with their child’s learning process and development.

Our large classrooms allow teachers to break into small groups depending on children’s interest throughout the day; encouraging learning, exploration, investigation, creativity, discovery, and curiosity.  A safe, caring, and welcoming environment is promoted to help your child develop the thinking skills and intellectual curiosity needed to be successful.

• Physical: Fine-motor and gross-motor development; engaging the five senses; learning through movement and music
