Dear Bloomingdale Day Care Families,

Effective Friday, March 20, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. we have decided that it is in the best interest of our students, families, staff and the community to temporarily suspend operations at Bloomingdale Day Care while COVID-19 is an active health risk.  As the number of cases of COVID-19 increase in and around our county we feel that we need to do our part to support social distancing.  During the last week, we have implemented the following measures to try to remain open including increasing hand washing and cleaning, conducting health assessments upon arrival and a “closed door” policy which allowed only staff and students in the building.  Our teachers have been diligently following these measures, and it is only appropriate to commend their hard work this week.  We wanted to do our part to provide child care service to essential workers in our community, however, the severe decrease in enrollment cannot support our center.

Bloomingdale Day Care understands the strain this will put on our center families, and we will be proactive in returning to normal operations as soon as possible.  In the mean time, in an effort to add an element of consistency, circle time will be posted on the Bloomingdale Day Care Facebook Page every weekday morning at approximately 9:15 a.m.   There will also be activities posted on individual Class Dojo pages to help parents continue education while we are closed.  We will make the necessary adjustments to our school calendar and send that out as soon as we have a better idea of when we will be returning.  At this time, the Family Art Show has been postponed to a later date and Spring Pictures have been rescheduled for June 1, 2020.

With the uncertainty of how long we will have to be closed, all decisions regarding financial matters will be addressed when we return.  These decisions will be made based on the needs of families and the center.
