The 2025 Holiday Show at Bloomingdale Day Care was nothing short of merry and bright — with a little extra sparkle thanks to weeks of hard work from our amazing kiddos AND our amazing teachers!. Families from Bloomingdale, Butler, Riverdale, Kinnelon, West Milford, Pompton Lakes, Haskell, and Wanaque all came together to cheer on their little performers.

For nearly a month, our classrooms were filled with the sweet sound of rehearsals, tiny voices practicing holiday tunes, and children very seriously debating which dance move was “the coolest.” We absolutely couldn’t have pulled it off without our fearless dance teacher, Ms. Bridget, who worked tirelessly (and patiently!) to get our little performers to move in the same general direction at the same general time. A true holiday miracle! And of course, a huge shoutout to our incredible Seeds, Sprouts 1, Sprouts 2, Blossoms 1, and Blossoms 2 teachers, who coached, rehearsed, encouraged, and gently redirected wandering singers back to the stage. Their dedication — and stamina — made the magic happen!

Our students didn’t just sing — they performed! They built gingerbread houses (the prop kind, not the structurally questionable edible kind), decorated festive backdrops, and rehearsed with the dedication of Broadway-bound performers… just much cuter and occasionally off-key in the best way.

When showtime finally arrived, our families packed the gymnasium, phones ready, smiles wide, and hearts full. Parents watched proudly as their little stars took the stage, some waving enthusiastically, some frozen in adorable stage fright, and others belting out holiday songs like they were headlining at Madison Square Garden. It was joyful, it was hilarious, it was heartwarming — everything a holiday show should be!

The celebration didn’t stop there! After the big performance, each classroom hosted cheerful holiday parties filled with crafts, cookies, and more photo ops than any parent’s camera roll could handle. And just when everyone thought the fun was over… Santa himself arrived at BDC! The children lit up instantly — some ran to him with excitement, some approached cautiously, and a few admired from a safe, respectable distance — but all of them were enchanted by the surprise visit – and the free candy canes!

A huge thank you to our amazing families for your support, enthusiasm, and holiday spirit. Events like these remind us how special our BDC community truly is.

We can’t wait to do it all again next year — the kids are already working on their “nice list” behavior, just in case Santa is still watching (and we told them he definitely is).
